Do You Want to be Adjusted?
(Jesus ministry was to adjust people to fit them into Gods plan and way of viewing things!)
I. 2 Timothy 3:16--All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, [Old and New Testaments]
and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, [Big 4]
17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (NKJ)
This word complete or perfect [artios (grk 739)], occurs only here in the New Testament. It does not occur once in the Septuagint, the Greek translation of the O.T. Most versions translate it "complete;" but the idea is that of harmonious adjustment to fit a person so that they may be used by the Lord.
the sense of "accurately fitted
to fit or adapt for use
right ordering and arrangement
Are you willing to be adjusted?
Are you willing to change so as to fit and conform to image of Christ?
Are you willing to be adjusted during this message, if so pray right now Jesus, please adjust me today, especially in my attitudes and the way I view things.

II. John 17:17--"Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. [#1]
18 "As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. [#2]
19 "And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth. [#3]
20 "I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word;
21 "that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; [#4Must be in one accord]
that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.
22 "And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, [#5Glory = the manifest presence]
that they may be one just as We are one: [We need to see Gods Glory in every Christian] [Instead,
we see peoples faults, idiosyncrasies, weaknesses, oddities, defects, blemishes, short comings]
CRITICAL:
Matt 6:23--But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness.
If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! (KJV)

III. Luke 10:25-37The Most Important Commandment:
25 One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question: [Motive]
"Teacher, what must I do to receive eternal life?"
26 Jesus replied, "What does the law of Moses say? How do you read it?"
27 The man answered, " 'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.' And, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' "
28 "Right!" Jesus told him. "Do this and you will live!"
29 The man wanted to justify his actions, so he asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"
30 {Story of the Good Samaritan} Jesus replied with an illustration:
"A Jewish man was traveling on a trip from Jerusalem to Jericho,
and he was attacked by bandits. [demons] [Think of someone stripped, beaten, & half dead]
They stripped him of his clothes and money, beat him up,
and left him half dead beside the road.
31 "By chance a Jewish priest came along; but when he saw the man lying there,
he crossed to the other side of the road and passed him by. [Being religious does not mean
that you automatically are compassionate, or that you are sensitive to others and their needs.]
32 A Temple assistant walked over and looked at him lying there, but
he also passed by on the other side. [There are those who dont care and those who dont care enough!]
I have enough problems of my own, without worrying about somebody else. [Job 42:10--And the LORD
turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.]
33 "Then a despised Samaritan came along, [Half-breed Jews][Sometimes non-Christians outshine us]
and when he saw the man, he felt deep pity. #1Compassion
34 Kneeling beside him,
the Samaritan soothed his wounds with medicine and bandaged them. #2Ministered
Then he put the man on his own donkey and took him to an inn, #3Invested time
where he took care of him. #4Took responsibility for a stranger
35 The next day he handed the innkeeper two pieces of silver #5Invested money
and told him to take care of the man. 'If his bill runs higher than that,' #6His help was open-ended
he said, 'I'll pay the difference the next time I am here.'
36 "Now which of these three would you say was a neighbor
to the man who was attacked by bandits?" Jesus asked.
37 The man replied, "The one who showed him mercy."
Then Jesus said, "Yes, now go and do the same."(NLT) #7The concept of stewardship & ownership

IV. Mark 8:23-24--So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything. And he looked up and said,
"I see men like trees, walking." (NKJ)
We learn to see people as non-persons; as trees walking; we do not see or feel their pain.
We have become desensitizednumbanesthetizedapatheticdeadened to others.
We are focused on our problems and pains.
Our problems are the governing point of our lives.

V. Phil 2:3Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit,
but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests,
but also for the interests of others. (NKJ)
We must live for someone else!
The only (authentic) joy comes from living for someone else.
When you say I do, you are choosing to live for someone else!
When you have children, you are choosing to live for someone else!
